I have been looking forward to seeing Terminal Voyeurs live since hearing their first recordings earlier this year. The recordings stood out to me for the intricate guitar melodies and elaborate use of guitar effects over a thumping backline.
I could set the scene of Prestatyn, that dogs’ toilet of a town on a blustery Monday night in January – but I’m not going to… Oh ok…
Offa’s Tavern – that odorous whim down by the train tracks, where 250 happy hardcore sted heads and slags will fight and shag the weekend away, but here, on a Monday night, it may as well be on another planet – a million miles away, where angels (and pricks) fear to tread.
Those who regularly attend and those who play these gigs refuse to be societal cogs in the shit machine of life… Fuck you all, let’s dance…
At last life stirs from the terminal Fogeyville that is Llandudno, in the shape of a concerted effort to have a regular alternative band night of some scale. Bringing in some bands from further afield to complement the local acts that are still persevering against the constant obstacles of a lack of venue opportunities and an audience beaten into apathy, I had heard that the inaugural event had been a great success even in the heart of winter so thought I’d check out the next instalment for myself.
