This week we have a collective heavy heart with the awful news that Bob Temp has passed away. So it is with fond pleasure and saddened pain that I’ll be repeating a session Bob and Friends, performed live on the show in 2017. Bob was diagnosed with terminal cancer in 2016. He didn’t let this get him down too much. As he says, ‘I always knew I was going to die sometime, now I probably know how’. But, he agreed that he needed to record his songs now rather than later. So, his friends gathered round and this is the result.
All profits from this CD sale will go to Awyr Las/Blue Sky Cancer Charity.
The line up in the studio is Bob Temp, Jez Shea and Dave Hopewell. On violin is Sean Ffidl Hughes who is also sadly no longer with us…
Bob Temp is a folk singer from Bethesda, and I first heard about him when he released his album ‘Life Goes On‘. It’s an upbeat yet melancholic collection of songs recorded and organised by his friends after they learnt that Bob is suffering from terminal cancer. So it was an absolute honour when he accepted an invitation to perform a session on my show; the results of which you can hear here along with two hours of ace music.
