So brilliant to read. Skinflick has always been something that warps music, time, people, and everything around it. I loved being bassist for that year or so but it’s a shame there’s no recorded stuff – we didn’t even make it to a live gig. Always amazing working with Dunc anyway as everyone who has had the pleasure knows. And Justin is always absolutely full of ideas and electronic mad shit.
Memories being what they are, going all the way back to the 1990s is bound to throw up some different interpretations – Justin did arrange a shitload of gigs, and so did I 🙂 Dogshit on Toast was outside of his orbit tho – all the lineups were centred around, and put together by, me and Barry Jones. It was always a traditional bass, guitar/s, drums type thing. Tho a Skinflick produced version would have been extremely interesting. DoT still exists as long as me and Barry are about.
So many ace stories and memories. It’s tragic how much we lost when Duncan ascended to whichever jazz-punk-classical nirvana he is now. Great words from a top bloke. May the FRANNGGGS continue to CLANNNG in his honour
