When Evil Blizzard mutated and started to spread their slime beyond the borders of that cesspit called Preston, they inadvertently spawned FilthyDirty. This filthy fella recently released his debut solo album, ‘The Rise And Fall Of Blasphemouth’ available on Crackedankles Records (review here). Unfortunately, Evil Blizzard are still together and have the added misfortune of FilthyDirty still being with them.
Best known for: Dancing skills, after dinner speaking, being on several episodes of Crimewatch and being a member of Evil Blizzard.
Current location: outside Preston prison waiting for an ex-friend.
Where I’d like to be right now: Lower east side Manhattan. Or lower east side Hartlepool. Anywhere would do after the past 18 months.
My music collection has a lot of: Punk and Classical. Working on the potential crossover but can’t decide whether to call the genre ‘Clunk’ or ‘Punksical’
Don’t judge me for: My dancing, after dinner speaking or being on Crimewatch. Again.
Five albums that keep me alive:
Ramones – It’s Alive – . Everything in music before this record was building up to it. Everything after is pretty much irrelevant.
Rudimentary Peni – Cacophony. Why? The knowledge there’s someone like their singer Blinko out there somewhere
ABBA – Arrival. First real influence, and remains so.
Underworld – Dubnobass: no matter where I am, this can take me immediately back to great, exciting times when the world was my oyster. And I ate it.
Endless Melancholy – Music For Quiet Mornings. Stupidly simple and minimalist piano playing that slows life down for a while. Lovely.
