rebellion
To some, this Rebellion weekend is their one outing a year; reliving their youth, having a holiday and shame upon them really, as
1/ They need to scrape their fat arses off the settee and see a ‘new’ live band once in a while; not just crawl out of the woodwork, dye their hair specially and dust down the old leather jacket for the occasion.
2/ Bands need people to see them, they need exposure and
3/ You only have one life, LIVE IT…!

Vice Squad, Punchdrunx, The Vermin Suicides @ Krazyhouse, Liverpool
Luv Dump, Truro @ Next to Nowhere, Liverpool

Another selection of punk to finish of the weekend (reserving Monday for recovery). Saturday had seen a slightly mellower evening than the grind/death horror/pleasure of Friday, ska punk from Smoke Like A Fish and Luv Dump in the salubrious surroundings of Llanfairfechan Sailing Club. Down on the seafront, with a backdrop of setting sun, food laid on, no entry fee just donations for the bands, and good company. The locals didn’t seem to mind the invasion at all, it was an excellent party atmosphere at this annual event.

‘We’ll need to get there early, gotta feeling it’s gonna be a busy one,’ I advised myself. Tonight was a convergence of the clans. Tim Griff was coming from Warrington on his 1200cc beast. Steve Sync was tinkling the ivories for Alien Matter at the Welshpool Festival and was bombing it up from there. MWJ hopped on a train from Conwy to Pensarn (he has a habit of loitering round the beach), where I picked him up and we headed to our hotel in Chester. A nice family room, but who’s gonna sleep in the cot?
