LISTEN AGAIN – Neil Crud On TudnoFM – Show #127

By |October 1st, 2018|0 Comments

Red Or Dead are ace… No need to say anymore really… They practice what they preach… No empty words here (although they’ve yet to publicly burn down a bank). Forerunners of the ‘We Shall Overcome’ campaign in support of local foodbanks they are active in promoting and helping the causes they believe in…
It was great to have them back in session for the fourth time on the show… Enjoy…

GIG REVIEW – Spam Javelin, Red Or Dead, Velvet @ The Skerries, Bangor

By |January 20th, 2018|0 Comments

A handy collection of three fine representatives of the burgeoning local original music scene, all gathered in the cheap and ever cheerful Skerries?  Yes, that will do, even for a flying visit from me.  It was good to see a lot of other band members out to support too, not something that always happens with folks caught up in their own bubbles.  I had sent some drunks to reserve me a seat up front so had a good view of proceedings.

Neil Crud on TudnoFM – Show 90 – with Red Or Dead in Session

Penmachno’s Red Or Dead have just released their debut album ‘Trotsky Waltz‘ so it was a no brainer to invite them back onto the show for a live session. They’ve been a three-piece and a six-piece, but now seem to have settled on being Gala, Rob, Emma and Dave. Together they play protest folk-punk that is gaining them plaudits on a daily basis. Long may it continue…

GIG REVIEW – Smash The Bank Holiday Alldayer @ Comrades Club, Conwy

(good pics by diane durham red evans – shit pics by neil crud)

This is what makes us tick… I say ‘us’ as in real people who go out and watch live music, who support it and the causes involved. Today is an exception, as in, it was exceptional… What a great day!

Eleven bands, eleven great performances and several sore heads. Despite the fact that promoter Mark Watson-Jones was only made aware of the archaic 11pm closing for this Bank Holiday Sunday on the morning – a swift re-jig of stage times and even swifter changeovers ensured everyone got to play.
