Dilation are a mutant band from Bangor. They are not of this Earth. They exist in a transphasic never world between darkness and darker. They are also superb. Check them out in warped session now.

Bloodstock Festival 2018 @ Catton Hall, Derbyshire

My first full weekend back at the UK’s prime independent metal festival for a while, my hopes are tempered by being spoiled by more exotic trips, the usual repeated/”safe” lineup, but also enlivened by the memories of the great party congregations experienced previously.  Into the pit we go!

Neil Crud On TudnoFM – Show #119

The Groceries is effectively everything else that Alan Holmes does that isn’t a collaboration, well, almost. His recorded output is, and has been so prolific over the past three decades that it’s very hard to collate it all into some sort of order. That’s exactly how he likes it. When you think of Alan’s projects past and present you can only be awestruck – Third Spain, Fflaps, Ectogram, Spectralate, Serpents, Normal Shed Uses, Boreas Gogledd just to name a few. Add his production credits to Gorkys Zygotic Mynci and Super Furry Animals, his record labels Central Slate and Turquoise Coal and you get half the picture.
So to finally pin him down in session was an honour and I knew we’d been blessed with something outside the norm…

The boys from Brazil to Bolton, via the Czech Republic and Rebellion in Blackpool.  I’d only just seen the hardcore punks for the first time in their 25 year history last week at Obscene Extreme and now had the opportunity not only to see them up close and personal but support them too.  What a time to be alive/deaf!
