Yachts - 5-pc band formed Apr 1977 by art students; Henry Priestman (voc,keys) (later of It's Immaterial, Wah! Christians), JJ Campbell (voc) (later of It's Immaterial), Martin Dempsey (bass) (later of Pink Military, It's Immaterial), Martin J Watson (gtr), Bob Bellis (drms). Orig called Albert Dock & The Codfish Warriors, signed to Stiff Recs & rel 7" Suffice To Say (Sep77). By Dec77 they signed to Radar & Campbell. They rel 2 singles in 1978, Love Back In Love, Yatching Type & John Peel aired a session 24.10.78 & another 2.7.79. Rec 1st LP 'The Yachts' while on a US tour & Martin left in Jan80 & sessioned with Rebél Da Fé & was replaced on bass by Mick Shiner, the 2nd LP 'Without Radar' (1980) came out & they supported The Who in Europe. Their final release 7" Fool Like You (1981) was on Demon recs with Glyn Havard now on bass & they split later that year. The Yachts also appeared on a 1977 single under the guise of Chuddy Nuddies.

Yellowjack - Wirral band (c2004) feat; Tim Waring (voc), John Hyslop (gtr), and Chaeles Van Der Meer (drms). Have picked up a few gigs recently, mostly notably at the monthly 'Valhalla' night organised by The Laze. According to some they sound a bit like The Coral meets the Talking Heads. The name could cause some confusion as I think there is a Manchester based outfit of the same moniker?

Young Lions - band, formed 1985, feat; Dave Carter (voc) (ex Bush Finders), Tony McGee (gtr), Bernie Carroll (bass) (ex Ex Post Facto), Jonte Williams (drms) (ex Numbers 28). Also feat at some point Tony Elson (drms) (ex Visual Aids, Systems, Islands of Dance) Were signed to IRS management, played at Larks Festival Aug87.
Young World - Ian McNabb (Icicle Works) started his musical career with this cabaret band playing working men's clubs, weddings etc. Chris Sharrock (Icicle Works, now Robbie Williams) joined the band at the age of 9. Band also feat; Lynn Newall (bass) (now Robbies Angels), David Newall, Peter Newall and Cheryl Leigh (later Word For Word, When It Rains). At the age of 16, Ian joined another band called "City Lights". Throughout this time, Chris and Ian remained good friends. And Chris and Cheryl worked in a at least two bands later.
