GIG REVIEW – Conflict, Dawn Ray’d, Bite Back, Falaun @ Drop The Dumbulls, Liverpool

Like Sound, like Outpost, Drop The Dumbulls has almost become my local (despite being an hour’s drive from the lair in North Wales)… Dumballs is almost squat-like, similar to those I’ve been to in Berlin and Copenhagen… with it’s cheap (canned beer) bar and a self-policed relaxed feel about the place.

Pete Bentham’s Free Rock ‘n’ Roll nights are simply the gift that never stops giving. I love this venue… It’s Sound. It’s also where I saw Cut for the first time this time last year, and I knew then it wouldn’t be the last… Neither would tonight…

GIG REVIEW – Kela Topan @ Pie Records, Rhos-On-Sea

By |February 22nd, 2019|0 Comments

I saw Kela Topan at Focus Wales Festival at Rewind in Wrexham last year, it was good, but this was better.
They turned up late, plugged in and played like a band possessed… That was basically it in a nutshell…
That nutshell is the quirky venue called Pie Records… Probably the best venue in the entire world (and they have Buckskin on draught). The 9pm live music curfew makes for an early night and also adds an edge to an evening that started late anyway…
