5ALIVE – Mark Watson-Jones – The Five Albums That Keep Me Alive
The Demi-God that was brought up in a stone circle above Penmaenmawr came down and took on the guise of Mark Watson-Jones. A constant in the North Wales anti-music scene since the late 1980s MWJ has committed crimes against chords with Blacklisted, Hecate Enthroned and Skinflick among others, along with his current felony Emissaries Of Syn. He writes for link2wales, hosted The Broken Jukebox radio show, has promoted countless gigs and runs the Pyrrhic Defeat record label.
Name: Mark Watson-Jones
Best known for: being a nice guy / absolute cont
Current location: straight outta Conwy
Where I’d like to be right now: in Europe
My music collection has a lot of… heavy bass, banging beats, and downright bolshy attitude
Don’t judge me for… mercilessly judging you for your weak ass musical taste
Five albums that keep me alive and why:
Propagandhi – Potemkin City Limits – progressive punk poetry reminding you of the hope beyond the horror
Run The Jewels – IV – when new hiphop keeps blowing you away you can always look forward to tomorrow
Hot Chocolate – The Very Best Of… – be a lover not a fighter. unless it’s against social injustice
Cult Of Luna – Mariner – you don’t have to be a billionaire to get to beautiful (post-metal) space
Massacre – From Beyond – at the end there is only death. Accept it and enjoy life.
