GIG REVIEW – Henge @ Ucheldre Centre, Holyhead
[review n pix by jared pegler]
Henge land in Holyhead – from the distant planet of Manchester, they traversed the cosmic dross to make earth pay attention… Jared Pegler put on his most comfortable trainers and went out space-jiving… This is what he had to say….
Venue is great – small & cosy let’s say, and was damn near full with a vibrant, colourful crowd!
Sound was great – I could hear everything! Great light show too. With bands playing in what was a purpose built convent, but now an arts & music centre, it gave the impression of an ‘electric church’! A fun & different kind of venue for live gigs.
Let’s throw Eat Static, Lord of the Rings, Hawkwind, Genesis, Goat, Snapped Ankles, Ozric Tentacles, Spinal Tap, Prodigy, GONG, Fluke and a load of Funtime Festival dance tent antics in there & you pretty much have a rainy gusty night in Holyhead sorted! Henge are about world peace on earth, ending the arms race, and harmony with your fellow human… but they’re only visiting…
PS take cash as it’s an old school bar!
