    Always thought that he got his name Lemmy down in Colwyn bay, playing on fruit machines he would often say to Taff and other various Henchmen, Lemmy a fiver.

      Remember a fiver was a week’s wages in those days,Gwyn! I recall Lemmy saying ‘Lend me a quid’ a few times tho’. My first wages in my first band in North Wales in those days was 25 shillings (£1.25 in today’s money) and that would buy you quite a few drinks.So that will give you some idea of the ‘cost of living’ in those good old days!

    Another theory I will add to the speculation: Lemmy is derived from the word ‘lembo’.
