Archive Track – MAVIS RILEY EXPERIENCE – Here Comes The Judge
Mavis Riley Experience were an Aberystwyth indie combo of the late 1980s, fronted by Gareth Edwards. When I was in 4Q, we shared the bill with them a couple of times at the Uni – it was always a good gig, and they were musically superior and far more entertaining than our shit-selves.
While doing some research I unearthed this ace track by them, recorded in 1990.

Oh YES, remember moshing to them at many a gig and house party, great days, remember also Leander on keyboards.

4Q were great! “I Hate TV”! Loved playing with them up the Union in Aber.

Loved the MRE, still do. The MRE / 4Q gigs at the Uni and the Angel and the gigs by Catso Dogmoon and Hectors House were the best gigs I’ve ever been too. I remember 4Qs reworked lyrics for Imagine! Fantastic gigs and great memories. Last saw Leander in Liverpool in the 90s at a ‘Mr Rays Wig World’ gig. A reunion gig in Aber would blow my socks off. Incredible gigs. Thank you.

Dave, rumours have it that Catso and Maves are playing in Aberystwyth again in 2019.
