Home from work, picked the boy up from after school Clwb on the way. Chucked the tea on; roast vegetables in olive oil and bacon. Thought of clearing the clutter in the kitchen; got as far as the bottle of Baileys on the window sill; checked the date, it was ok, so emptied what was left into a whisky glass and took a slug and sat and read last Saturday’s Independent.
Young Dec has found a new ‘undiscovered’ Muse song on YouTube called Glorious (yeah, his unhealthy obsession is far from waning). Sounds ok though, it’s off the Japanese version of Black Holes, he’s played Muse so much that I’ve become unaMused these days, just like I did with Placebo after introducing the girl Marni to them all those years ago. Kids have a tendency to play the same stuff to death; to the extreme that Muse are now banned at Crud Cottage, with the threat of not seeing them at Wembley in September if I hear them too much! Pity I can’t use the same threat with Bullet For My Valentine, but I guess there’s a little forgiveness as they are Welsh boys made good, and were signed up to Pynci in their early days, an organisation that tried (and failed) to mould Pocket Venus in 2003 (I think).

Must carry on clearing the kitchen now… oh look, a half drank bottle of Jack Daniels…
