Dogbones – Aneurin
Dogbones well and truly chewed…
I love Dogbones… They’re a sparkling turd on the cracked pavement of life… Dogbones are not just a band, they’re a ticking timebomb, a walking disaster, they are making artistic history simply by breathing…
Whilst rummaging through old emails I happened upon this track sent by Nomi from the band… Not sure if this track ever made it onto vinyl, but it’s here for your pleasure.. and to hear it is a pleasure…
The track is the Welsh version of Ley Line, and Nomi, explains its becoming…
‘So Ley Line is a song about James (Klaus Kinski) and I. When we first met it was though a ley line stretching from Wales to London…or more precisely from his house on Penmaenmawr mountain to my flat in Belsize park… I was struggling with addiction and filling holes with all the trappings of big city excess. I needed to disappear and write. At the same time James was having a bloody fight with his most destructive inner demons in a mental ward called Aneurin. I got off the train to James faking his own death, very convincingly, on the platform. The blood was exquisite and the look of pure horror on the train conducter’s face was intense. Later we took a bath with some ketamin and spat blood in each others faces in a ritual of friendship and faith. This was how we met and married.’
