Crud Cast 13

Broadcast date says Dec ‘03, and also Crud Cast 13 – what happened to shows 7 – 12 ?

The Cox – “Nailbomb The Dancefloor” (new EP)
The Filaments - “Bastard Coppers” (MP3)
Snatch- “Who We Are” (off EP)

The Cox became worth their weight in gold when they came up with this classic single. The Filaments Bastard Coppers beauty still gest played at the punk gigs (c2009). Whitewash featured Daz Roddick who went on to play for Anti Virus and Deadlight Spiral.
Jarcrew were simply outstanding…

Stuntface – live

Recorded live at Central Station, Wrexham by BBC Radio Wales for Adam Walton’s Musical Mystery Tour on 23.03.03

Tracks:

Wayne Cotton (voc, bass) says, ‘This session was recorded live at Central Station in Wrexham and broadcast live on BBC Wales, played a blinder, good response. Told under no circumstances that I could swear so sometimes you can hear me fluffing odd words in songs but after a couple I gave up and just did them as they are anyway and no one noticed. Good times la, good sessions as well.’

‘We were going to put out as the WE WERE LIVE e.p. with permission from the Beeb but lack of funds put paid to that…. we may still do so….the same idea with the new line up.’

Session was repeated on 28.12.03

Alien Matter Session

on Adam Walton’s Musical Mystery Tour, BBC Radio Wales

Tracks:  Lazer Junkie / Kelly and Steve / Padded Box / Bad Earth

Pete Alien – voc
Mike – gtr
Rich – bass
Ste Sync – keys
Cumi Pants – drms/b.voc

Recorded at Sylem Studios, Betws-y-Coed.
Produced by Neil Crud. Engineered by Geraint Jones

An alternative version of Kelly and Steve was also recorded with some derogatory remarks about Adam’s anatomy, it was obviously never broadcast!

By December 2003 the band had ceased having only released a demo and a track (Bad Earth) on a Poisoned Whisky compilation CD.

Crud Cast 6

CHETO – Mask Mix
?
? – Beunos Aries

Lost the playlist for this, although do have the show on CD in the attic – may pull it out one day and try to indentify the tracks. Cheto was an early offering from the Johnny R stable (R-Bennig records) on Ynys Mon.

Soft Hearted Scientists

1st of 4 sessions for Adam Walton’s BBC Radio Wales Show

Tracks aired – The Petition / Drifting Away / Totem Pole Blues / Black Castles / Diving Bell

Some of these songs were repeated on subsequent shows and the band are a firm favourite of Adam’s.

Crud Cast 5

BLACK SWANS – Ltd Excess
AUDIO TERRORISTS – Mercy
THE COX – Falling In Love With You
WUPT – Stoned Rabbi
NO CHOICE -
KENTUCKY AFC – Left To Die
JIVES ROOM – Tight Pussy

2003 brought with it a host of new and exciting young bands, Homespun, Black Swans (despite the name! There was message board debates over their namechange from Carbonari), Audio Terrorist was a 1.30m slab of techno wonderment, The Cox were beginning to make noises, as were KAFC and Jives Room.
