Pocket Venus @ Ryans Bar, Chester
‘Get me the beer back or the band are dead’ came the voice down the phone.
’Err… What beer?’ I replied.
The poster read Acoustic Jam & to be fair that’s what the punters normally got on a Saturday afternoon in this city centre gaffe & they’d clap politely between songs & spill designer beer on their designer clothes. They did this pretty well to the opening acoustic set, as a solo artist picked up by the band on the way to the gig, strummed through a repertoire of classics.

A favourite band of the Mystery Tour show, which Adam Walton played at least 85 times over the years!
This session was also repeated in full in June 2005 and tracks were repeatedly aired during shows.
Tracks : Lightsabre Cocksucking Blues / Friends Stoning Friends / Join The Mevolution / What We’ve Learned
Andrew Bird
This session is of particular interest as 6 songs were aired during the show, most sessions are 3 tracks long. It may have been that Andrew was in the studio, or that Adam was also featuring a new release as well as the session. More info req’d.
Tracks: Two-Way Action / Headsoak / Core And Rind / Too Long / Fatal Flower Garden / Two Way Action (again)
Pocket Venus, Nutonic, Carbon Atom @ Breeding Ground, Rhyl

Tracks: Outside / Creeping / Womb Song
This session version of Womb Song was aired again a month later and 6 months on, and Creeping was unearthed again by Adam some 6 years later.
Loving Cup – Session aired on BBC Radio Wales
This was the first of 2 Adam Walton sessions by the Deeside alt-country band, which is pretty rare as bands rarely get invited for a second session (Loving Cup’s were 5 years apart), mainly because the bands split up.
Tracks : Just Move On / Been Away Too Long / Where I Wanna Be
Liberty 37
Was this the first Musical Mystery Tour session?
Tracks ; Broadside / Head of David / All of Myself / Father Forgive Me
Black Market Clash, Out of Use, 0898 @ NW Theatre, Llandudno

It’s been a strange couple of weeks LATBG (Life After The Breeding Ground), lost souls calling The Samaritans, not knowing how to carry on. A special helpline has been set up to aid those suffering from the loss & trauma. The Rastin suggests TBGs closure is a stimulus the area needs as bands were getting lazy & becoming cocooned in Breeding Ground circles, not breaking anywhere else in fear of rejection, or through fear of having to organise something themselves. Now in the era of LATBG the big bad world once again beckons the bands who will have to work that little bit harder to achieve their aims.
