ECTOGRAM release 2nd single ‘Mary’

I can’t get enough of this band. The vocals are delicious, the guitars are strummed in a simple tuneful manner, the song plods along and then a synth jumps in and we’re suddenly in the middle of a prog rock epic, but sung in Welsh. I’m a fan of a band that who can let half their instruments (in this case the vocal) carry the song when everything else belts out musical chaos. Ectogram are good at this. [Neil Crud] – I’m in total agreement with the reviewer… This single is quite quite bonkers… From Ann’s vocals that sound like they’re being sung by a 4-year-old psychopath with a kitchen knife, to the Silver Machine riff so blatantly ripped off (it may even have been sampled). Like Y Fflaps that came before them, Ectogram defy convention beyond any reasoning…
Simple wonderful (in a completely shit kind of way)…
